a friend told me they are supposed to hurt, i stopped one a while back because it began to hurt really bad, to the point of unbearable.Do colon cleanses cause pain in the abdominal GI frame?
If the pressure is too high, if the water is pumped in too quickly, or if too much water is pumped in, then yes an enema can hurt a great deal.





A more important issue is the fact that a colon cleanse has no scientifically proven benefits. If you're going to keep using them them you should admit to yourself that they're a placebo that's basically a part of a religion related to the concept of ';detoxing.'; A few minutes of research reveals that the entire concept is rejected by medical science so you should be asking yourself why you're doing it in the first place.





For the record, I would be seriously worried about the person who performed your colon cleanse. Since the entire industry is not regulated there is no guarantee that they were competent or safe. If you insist on continuing this needless procedure then at the very least you should find a better technician to administer it.
